The thumb rule that you should take care of while putting across an order for your fencing needs is that, the purpose defines the kind of fencing you go for. If once you are clear with the purpose it can be very easy to look for the perfect option and it also helps you in narrowing down to a few options rather than selecting from a huge range of options. Wire mesh is an economical, safe and sturdy option to go for but how do you determine that which one is the best suited for you? Below we will analyze some of the, different types of wire mesh available and how well can they suit your purpose.

If you are thinking of cordoning off or defining the area of your property then people generally go for chain link fencing which usually has big holes. Remember that here you also have to keep in mind the security bit so opt for heavier material and if you are planning to use it for long term then a galvanized or stainless steel one is the best option for you.

If you are looking to cordon off a smaller area or something that doesn’t fall on the boundary of your property then go for something which has smaller holes. At my workplace there is a generator room just outside the campus but inside the boundary, this kind of wire mesh has been used there. This need not be the heavy kinds, just something that would solve the purpose.

Small pets and kitchen garden also require some fencing work (mostly to keep the small pets away from the garden!). Therefore in such a case you can go for something known as mono filament netting, which has really small holes and is not very heavy. You can install it yourself too and according to your own requirements.

There might be certain areas in your house which require protection from rodents, insects and mosquitoes. For this you will need something with really small holes usually 6mm, they can be cut/shred to any desired size and thus easy to deal with.

You also need to decide on what do you want to cover your fence with. A lot of people prefer to cover it with green synthetic nets to make it blend with the environment. A highly recommended option by me!

If you aren’t very keen on the color part but still want to prevent your fence from corrosion and damage you should go for galvanized or stainless steel ones. Last but not the least remember that whatever your requirement is don’t forget to mention it to your seller because they might be able to guide you better in case you have any specific factor that you want to be taken care of.
